Hysteroscopy

A hysteroscopy performed to examine the inside of the uterus. Using an instrument called a hysteroscope, Dr. Jeyalingam gently inserts the hysteroscope into the vagina, up through the cervix and then into the uterus. A lighted camera on the hysteroscope allows Dr. Jeyalingam to examine the uterus.
When is a hysteroscope performed?
A hysteroscope may be performed to determine the cause of:
- Abnormal bleeding
- Bleeding after menopause
- Infertility
