Ovarian Cyst Removal (Cystectomy)

Ovarian cysts are fluid-filled sacs or pockets in or on the ovary, and they’re actually quite common. Most women have ovarian cysts at some point in their lives, but they are typically harmless and disappear without treatment within months. Other times, however, ovarian cysts can cause problems, especially if they rupture.
Although steps are taken to combat ovarian cysts without surgery, these approaches do not always work, and the cysts can grow larger and/or more bothersome. In that case, surgery may be recommended.
Dr. Jeyalingam uses a minimally invasive approach to remove the ovarian cysts, using either laparoscopic repair or robotic assisted surgery.
